A Look Into My Makeup Bag

A Look Into My Makeup Bag on

A couple weeks ago I was having dinner with one of my friends. The topic came up regarding what makeup products do bloggers really wear? Many times you’ll see multiple products reviewed on a blog. How do you know if that product is one the blogger truly loves or one they’d even wear? So today I’m giving you a real look into my makeup bag and the products I use on a typical basis (and yes I really love them!)

Along with that these are products that I intend to keep using for years to come. Why spend more time than necessary searching for a new makeup routine when this one works. Sometimes simpler is better!

Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes (c/o Influenster): Neutrogena, Burt’s Bees, or Yes To are my go-to brands for makeup remover towelettes. I don’t buy the same brand each time because I buy what’s on sale.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter: This product I’ve been using since 2009 and it’s only the second time I’ve had to re-buy it. Since the first time I purchased the product they’ve totally changed the packaging to be more eco-friendly and it’s finally in a package that works for flying! I use this product under my eyes with a Q-tip to remove any makeup that’s still under my eyes after a shower.

Simple Sensitive Skin Experts Replenishing Rich Moisturizer (c/o Allure): I love that this product is free of harsh chemicals and parabens (as are the majority of the products I use). I’ve been using this product since last summer and love that I only have to use it once a day.

Essie nail polish in Lilacism and Set in Stones: When it comes to nail polish I’m a fan of Essie and OPI. One of my friends recently surprised me with these on my doorstep and I love these colors for spring!

Dr. Jart BB Beauty Balm SPF 45: I got this sample in a Birchbox over a year ago and it’s still going strong. I use it to cover up blemishes after I put on the Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer.

Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion: This product a lovely Ulta employee helped me pick out so that my eye dust would stay on longer. Who knew that this was necessary? I definitely didn’t until last summer. Thank you to the people who are wise regarding makeup!

Napoleon Loose Eye Dust in Starlight: The same Ulta employee helped me pick out this lovely shade. I’ve been wearing this shade since last summer and there is still plenty in the pot.

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara: I’ve been trying to find the right mascara for quite awhile. One of my friends encouraged me to try Tarte products and I’m hooked! Many times other mascaras will flake into my eye and this product thankfully does not!

Nars Lip Pencil in Cruella and Rikugien (c/o Sephora): This is the Sephora birthday gift of 2015 (my birthday is on April 25). I really like how long they stay on and the colors are pretty awesome too.

Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer: If you’re looking for a BB cream that brightens, hydrates your skin, and has a beautiful glow to it this is it!

Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On: This helps wake up tired and puffy eyes. I use this first when I start my makeup routine in the morning. This was a Birchbox full sized sample that I received over a year ago and it’s also still going strong.

Other Favorite Lipsticks/Lip Crayons (not pictured): Rimmel London Kate in 107, Burts Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiian Smolder, and Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Dusty Rose.

Oh, wow. I love these kinds of posts! 🙂 I’ve always wanted to try The Body Shop! Do you like them in general or just that one product? I’m an Olay girl when it comes to skin care. 🙂

It’s always fun to see what’s in makeup bags. I just use that one Body Shop product so I don’t have a whole lot of other knowledge about them, but I know the employees that have helped me are always very knowledgeable and would probably let you try samples!
