A Summer of Athleisure
This summer has not gone exactly as I envisioned, shocker. I’ve spent a combined total of five weeks of no-screen-time, no-work-time recovering from a concussion (read why here if you’re curious). Which means that I’ve spent a good majority of the summer in athleisure attire as I walk away the boredom along the river.
There’s something about a tried-and-true classic of athletic shorts and tees that should be embraced, so this summer I’ve deemed a summer of athleisure.
It brings me back to the childhood days where I lived in this style daily because I continually dreamt of being in the WNBA. I thought if I dressed like them I’d make it a reality? Oh how I was a dreamer.
I’ve been changing into athleisure after work for years (yes, even before athleisure was a known word) and this summer I just happened to spend five weeks in it all-day-every-day instead.
The best part about this athleisure outfit is that I’ve had the shorts featured in today’s post since 2009. The other very similar pairs of Nike shorts I’ve worn all summer, I’ve had just about as long. I love how well these shorts wear and how long that they last. They still look almost as new as the day I bought them. Tip for longevity, wash them in cold water and dry on low.
