Explore Portland’s Burnside Bridge + Pine Street Market – Little Bay Root White Stag Sign Tee
Saturday’s are for sleeping in, reading books, and exploring the city in Little Bay Root tees.
Exploring the Burnside Bridge and Pine Street Market has been on my list for quite some time. We happened to park right by Pine Street Market so it was a must to have lunch at after a quick walk on the bridge. I’d been wanting to walk on the Burnside Bridge because it is home to the famous White Stag sign.
While on our walk to between the bridge and Pine Street Market we happened upon a Discovery Channel filming. I’m always hoping to experience a filming and nearly a year and a half later of living in the city I finally stumbled across one.
Pine Street Market is the city’s first food hall and features nine of Portland’s best chefs and purveyors, all under one roof. We had Marukin Ramen and Wiz Bang Bar soft serve ice cream, so yummy!
Style Tips for Exploring in Portland
- Shoes that are comfortable to walk in
- Cozy tees
When exploring in Portland I recommend wearing a raincoat or having one with you. Rain is almost always in the forecast in October in Portland. Let’s be real here… I briefly took my raincoat off for photos. It started raining about the moment we decided to leave the house and thankfully stopped shortly before parking and it was nice to have since it was a little brisk out.
Wear shoes that are comfortable enough to walk many blocks in. Anything goes in Portland so wear whatever you’re comfortable in. My favorites to explore in are Nike or adidas. Both corporate headquarters are located in the Portland area, so you’ll see a lot of locals wearing both brands. I recently learned that if I buy Nike shoes out of the Young Athletes section that they fit my feet and are way more affordable. Who cares that these Nike shoes are actually little boy shoes… I bet you would never have guessed had I not shared my secret with you.
On Saturday’s I swap out my work wear for tees. Little Bay Root tees are my favorites these days. They are the softest tees I’ve ever owned and yes, they’ve finally beat how soft my long-time favorite American Apparel Tees are. I love how Little Bay Root has designed so many fun Portland and Pacific Northwest tees. I’ve been a fan of graphic tees since I was in junior high. In junior high, I only wore Iowa State tees to school every single day. Now if only I can convince Little Bay Root to design a few Iowa tees.
I love to wear jeans. Since I can only wear jeans to work on Friday, I capitalize on wearing them during the weekend. When I’m out exploring the city on a weekend with my hubby I’m almost always in jeans.
Again, anything goes in Portland, you definitely don’t have to dress like me. Wear what you’re comfortable in. I just happen to be comfortable in tees, jeans, and athletic shoes. Happy exploring!
