Shop Your Closet
How many of you have outfits in the closet that you haven’t worn in a while? As I was organizing my t-shirt drawer this weekend with a dear friend an idea popped into my head; Why not wear those garments that sit patiently in your closet waiting to be worn.
This week is my first week of the “5 Days Of” challenge. My personal style challenge for the next five days is to wear clothing that I haven’t worn in the last few months. For each outfit of the day, I’ll shop my own closet and wear one garment (all have been worn on the blog before) that I haven’t worn in quite some time.
Want to see what I’ll be wearing? All my outfits for the week are in this post. Have outfits you haven’t worn in a while too? Join me using the hashtag #5daysofstylechallenge and try the challenge for yourself.
As I was scrolling Instagram a blogger had paired a jean jacket with a striped turtleneck and black pants. I own all of those items and have never thought of pairing them together. Since I haven’t worn my jean jacket in a few months, this was the first outfit that I wanted to wear for my personal, shop your closet style challenge.

My sweet friend Diane blessed me with a beautiful leopard print cardigan. I haven’t worn it in a few months (I mean I did have surgery after all and only wore leggings and tees for weeks upon weeks). For day two’s outfit, I decided to pair the cardigan over my Kate Spade dress with black heels.

For day three of shopping my closet, I wanted to wear something red. It is Valentine’s Day and I always like to wear red or pink each year to be festive. I picked a red Calvin Klein dress as the garment that I hadn’t worn since summer. I paired black booties and a leather jacket with the dress.

For day four I wanted to style another gem that I received from Diane, a beautiful black and white geometric skirt. I haven’t worn the skirt for a few months either and wanted to style it a way that I haven’t worn it before. I paired the skirt with a black turtleneck, black fleece tights, and black flats.

On Fridays, I try and wear something that is crimson and/or gray with jeans. Crimson and gray are Washington State University Vancouver’s school colors. This week I decided to wear my Tahari ASL crimson blazer (which I haven’t worn in far too long) with a black tee, black flats, and dark wash jeans.
