5 Days of Black and White Dresses
One of my favorite things about the new 5 Days Of series is styling items that I already own. The beauty of these dresses is that these dresses range in age from eight months to eight years old, none are dresses that I’ve recently gone out and purchased.
Being that the weather had other plans for last weeks 5 Days of Turtlenecks. This week my plan is to finally wear one of the two black and white dresses that were in last weeks challenge, plus four additional black and white dresses.
Why did I not wear some of last weeks outfits?
Well… the snow had other plans. I ended up working from home on days two and three of last weeks challenge due to winter weather. Being that I worked from home, let’s be real, I didn’t wear dresses either day.
This weeks style challenge…
Join in on this weeks style challenge by wearing any black and white dresses that you already own. If you own black and white dresses and decide to participate in this challenge, please post a picture and use the updated hashtag, #5daysofstylechallenge
So… this dress isn’t entirely all black and white. But, it is primarily black and white with a pop of yellow and with last weeks snow I wanted to finally be able to wear this dress before it gets warmer outside again. I paired the dress with a bold lip color, leopard print flats, pearl earrings, and a pearl necklace.

Polka dots bring me so much joy and they are such a fun print. Black and white polka dots are and likely will always be my favorite print. I’ve had this Target polka dot dress since the early days of working at Oregon State. It was even the dress I wore for work headshots one year. I love that this dress has held up so well, I literally used to wear it weekly. To spice up this dress, I paired my black flats that have a bow on them with a bow belt and pearl studs.

This dress is another oldie, but goodie. I’ve had this Kohl’s dress for eight years now. I wore this dress the day I interviewed for graduate school at The University of Kansas. To add a bit of Jayhawk/Cougar flair I added my red heels with this outfit, a fun chunky necklace, and a black blazer that I purchased from Kohl’s when I was interviewing for my current role at Washington State University Vancouver back in March of 2016.

I sewed this black and white striped dress this summer. I wore it a ton this summer when the weather was warm. I’ve been wanting to wear it this winter and just hadn’t figured out how I wanted to style it. This style challenge was the perfect reason to pull it out of the closet. I paired it with a gray Leith sweater, BP booties, and a Stella & Dot scarf.

This outfit is every bit cute and sassy. I got this Eliza J dress about this time last year and it’s always fun to create new ways to style it. I’ve never worn this dress styled this way. To make this outfit sassy, I added the booties and Ann Taylor jacket. To make it cute, I added the pearl necklace and pearl studs (which I wear almost every day).
