note from the designer
Psalm 121: 1-2. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Thunderstorms are one of my favorite weather events. I love watching, listening, and fully experiencing the power and beauty it brings. The evening of our wedding, the skies in Oregon illuminated from the most gorgeous thunderstorm. Even back to my Iowa childhood, we would perch on our front porch swing and watch the storms roll in. As I type this, my mind can visualize the electricity in the air and I’m flooded with warm remembrances of time spent with family and friends.
As you create your Electric Storm quilt, be sure to pull fabric that brings back fond memories. The Kona Pacific Blue that I used in my cover quilt is an ode to summer storms I witnessed while living in Lawrence, Kansas during grad school. (Rock Chalk!) Both polka dot fabrics tie in pattern elements featured in our wedding and my all-time childhood favorite print. I’m excited to see what you create!
Happy sewing!
Allison
