Joyful Stripes - Ruby Star Society Ocean Tides Version
Joyful Stripes by Allison Ramsing is a charm pack-friendly quilt pattern. The pattern also includes directions for jelly rolls, layer cakes, fat quarters (fat quarters were used in this version), and yardage.

QAL Schedule:
Week of 5/3: Get the pattern and pick fabric.
Week of 5/10: Cut fabric.
Week of 5/17: Make strip sets.
Week of 5/24: Make the mini blocks.
Week of 5/31: Make the full blocks and assemble the quilt top.
Saltwater Fabrics put together a gorgeous Ruby Star Society bundle entitled Ocean Tides for the Joyful Stripes Quilt-A-Long. The bundle to me was a perfect fabric representation of the Oregon Coast (I’m based out of Portland, Oregon — Saltwater Fabrics is on the East Coast).

joyful stripes note from the designer:
As a fifth-generation quilter, one of my favorite things about this craft is that I can use the quilting skills my mom and nana taught me as a child. Using those skills makes it seem like I’m right back in their sewing rooms again even though we’re 1,675 miles apart. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, like many of you, I spent more hours connecting with family via FaceTime. Through those calls, while the twins were napping, I began creating my first original quilt pattern: Joyful Stripes. This pattern draws inspiration from the first quilt I made in elementary school, a basic rail fence quilt pattern. The name of this pattern is inspired by Nehemiah 8:10 “…the joy of the Lord is my strength.” This pattern uses charm packs so that you can easily incorporate several fabric lines that you love into this quilt.
