As a quilt pattern designer, I find inspiration for new designs in all kinds of places. This one came from a pretty unexpected combination: my recent gallbladder removal surgery, lots of time spent in doctors’ offices, and the words of Matthew 28:19–20.
At the end of the verse, Jesus reminds us, “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
I’ve had a lot of extra time to rest and recover from two surgeries this year. For 16 weeks, I wasn’t able to lift my kiddos and with five kids all six and under (two sets of twins with a singleton in the middle!), that was no small thing. We had childcare, and our friends and family stepped in to help us in so many ways. I’m incredibly thankful for each person who showed up for our family.
But through all of it, I was reminded that I was never doing it alone. God was with me, always.
My hope is that when you snuggle up under your With Us quilt, you’ll be reminded that you are loved, cared for, and never alone. God is with you, too.
