Bold Blocks - Vintage Holidays version - Michael Miller Fabrics
It’s the beginning of December and Christmas is quickly approaching. The fabulous thing about the Bold Blocks quilt pattern is that it is a quick sew and you still have plenty of time left to make it for your own home or as a gift for a friend before the holidays (or make it after!).
I’ve made multiple versions of this pattern: cover quilt, QAL quilt, and now this holiday version, and even hosted a quilt-a-long for it in 2020. I have a feeling these won’t be the only versions I make either. This quilt pattern is one of my favorites and I love how it showcases the fabrics you’ve picked for your quilt!
Bold Blocks is a yardage, fat quarter, and scrap friendly quilt pattern designed by Allison Ramsing. This pattern is excellent for showcasing large prints.
Fabric featured in this Michael Miller Fabrics Vintage Holidays version are:
Michael Miller Fabrics Peppermint Stick (in the quilt top and is the binding)
Michael Miller Fabrics Garden Pindot with Metallic (background fabric)
Michael Miller Fabrics Beary Soft Minky in Kelly Green (backing fabric)
Disclosure: Michael Miller Fabrics sent me the fabric for this quilt.
bold blocks note from the designer:
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
This verse encourages me to be BOLD, be STRONG, and be COURAGEOUS. As you create your Bold Blocks quilt, pick fabric that empower you to be BOLD, STRONG, and COURAGEOUS. This pattern is ideal for showcasing large prints. I originally designed this pattern to feature the bold prints in the Whatnot fabric line by Rashida Coleman Hale for Ruby Star Society but these holiday prints by Michael Miller Fabrics also look fabulous with this pattern.
Happy sewing,
Allison
